How to Wrap an Odd-Shaped Basket

“What is the best way to wrap a gift basket that has legs/sleigh (ex. a Christmas Sleigh basket)?”
There are two methods that are popular with designers.
1. Shrink wrapping. Applying shrink wrap from bottom to top will secure the legged container and contents.
A shrink wrap shell (domed at the top) or use of a shrink wrap system are better options than a shrink wrap bag.
2. Cellophane. It’s possible to wrap the entire container in cello. There will be looseness and wiggling around the bottom of the vessel due to the cello’s inability to stay tight.
You can also wrap the contents with cello, leaving the sleigh’s legs unbound. Cellophane covers the seat, and products are positioned, wrapped together, and topped with a bow. That’s how I wrapped several sleighs (shown above) in 2006 for gift baskets hand delivered to educators at a public school.
It’s best to hand deliver, not ship, this last method.

Hi Marcia,
I’m delighted that my response was helpful, and I wish you the best of wraps around every design.
Hi again, you answered a question for me back in April, now I have another question and I hope I’m not being a pest. Can you or should you put pictures of your baskets on your website showing name brand products (ex. coca cola, fiddle faddle, hershey’s kisses)?
